Who am I?

Somewhere along a journey that has included:

  • 15+ years of grinding then gaming a career in the Digital Media Industry

  • A war-of-attrition against the New York Marathon (with a strained glute)

  • Numerous tropical Digital Nomad excursions

  • A questionable face first decent into an abaondoned Bolivian silver mine

  • Sketchy take offs over razor Balinese reefs and even sketchier scooter trips (to get to said reefs) navigating the rabbit-warren of alleys and sidewalks-come-thoroughfare that is downtown Denpasar, Indonesia.

  • Countless hours doing my best not to become deleted upon the sweat and blood stained mats of Muay Thai gyms throughout Thailand

I learned some shit.

I learned that fear can be controlled.

That you can create your own (sustainable) life/work balance.

That the most powerful and valuable professional development rarely occured within a boardroom.

One of the most important things that I learned was that the greatest productivity hack of them all was found in the preservation of my wellbeing, understanding of my self and a continued pursuit of epic paths.

If you’re not feeling good, you’re not doing good.

It’s this simple-in-theory-but-hard-in-practice principle that underpins everything I do/am/asipre to be and the guiding theme I seek to explore through this newsletter.

Other pursuits of note include hosting the Doing Epic Stuff podcast, creating/facilitating mindful productivity workshops (goal setting for Mindful Makers, how to get the most out of your breaks with a ‘Mindful Smoko’), being a part-time Mindful Marketer myself and periodically disappearing into the wilderness…

What’s it about?

It’s primarily informed by insight gained through personal experiences.

It’s never preachy.

If you have even the slightest interest as to how someone who hasn’t worked a full-time job since 2007 has also (during this time):

  • Bootstrapped a successful digital advertising agency

  • Become the Media Director of multi-national digital media agencies, whilst based in tropical time zones

  • Designed and delivered mindful productivity workshops for early-stage founders

  • Competed in amateur Muay Thai competitions

  • Grown a podcast to the top 5%

  • Is fitter than he was 10 years ago in mind, body and soul

Then please, dear reader, read on…
